Germs, Germs, Germs A Whole Lot Of Germs

I know it’s been a while since I wrote a new blog post. But we were in germ land the last few weeks, heck, let’s say months. That’s the great thing about school I guess. Two weeks in school, two weeks sick at home, a week of school, another few days at home, and so on. I know I’m not the only one. And then we got two weeks of Christmas vacation in between.

It’s safe to say, I’ve had a serious lack of sleep the last month and a half.

In one of my last blog posts, I was screaming, YAY PRESCHOOL. I would finally have more time for my blog! It was going to be amazing!

But no, it wasn’t meant to be. It wasn’t bad enough our little one was really sick. It didn’t take long to get sick as well. But I’m almost caught up with my household tasks, so I found a little time to type a new blog, FINALLY!!!

New things

But we didn’t sit still entirely of course. We’ve actually added a couple of things to our website. You see all this reminded us of the wonders of parenting and words only go so far. So, that’s why we started doing comics about parenting as well. This is all my lovely husbands work. And, since I’ve decided to start exploring the world of “family cooking” I wanted to share my favorite recipes as well. So, there will be a whole new section dedicated to kid friendly recipes. You know, things that are ridiculously easy to make but really get you out of that cooking rut.

But it wasn’t all bad of course, I had my little girl with me and we enjoyed being sick together, hihi.

We watched a lot of movies, so thank you Netflix. We played movie theater at home, with some chips and popcorn. She loved it. Snuggling in de sofa.

The holidays

Also we had a children’s holiday on the 6th of December. It’s called Saint-Nikolas or in Dutch we call it Sinterklaas. The kids put a shoe with a carrot in it for Saint-Nikolas’s horse and some cookies and milk for Sint-Nikolas and his helper, the night before. It’s pretty much the same person as Santa only he’s skinny and it isn’t as family focused.

Then on the 6th, when they wake up and there are presents EVERYWHERE, mostly toys and chocolates. Because our girl was sick, she could really enjoy her new toys since she was at home anyway and we were glad she could keep herself busy.

After Sint-Nikolas we put up our Christmas tree. I really enjoyed it this year. It was the first time she could really help me. She was so excited. All the lights and the ornaments. I had a real little helper. She was so proud when the tree was done.

And then of course it was Christmas, so more presents – read toys – to keep our little one busy.

I honestly think there was a bit of a toy overload this holiday season.

Now you’re all caught up on the lost few weeks/months. She’s now finally back at school. Hopefully for a bit longer this time, but if I disappear again for a while, we’re probably back in germ town. But don’t worry, I’ll keep coming back!!!!

Ps. I’m actually creating a backlog of blogs so I can keep posting anyway.
